But a few weeks before the wedding, Anne decides to go to the front as a nurse with her childhood friend Kitty. There, on Bora Bora, she meets the soldier Westry Green, and their friendship grows into true love. In an abandoned bungalow, where a famous artist once worked and which the natives considered a cursed place, lovers create their own little world in the midst of bloody battles. The war will end, and the two will have to return to their former lives and make a choice - if nothing prevents them from being together. Many years later, grandmother Anne receives a letter from a stranger, which brings her back to those times. But will this story have a happy ending?
